CFPB Releases Spring 2019 Rulemaking Agenda

On May 22, 2019, the CFPB released their Spring 2019 rulemaking agenda.  This semi-annual report provides a list of regulatory matters that the CFPB anticipates having under consideration for the next year.  The Spring 2019 Agenda is broken down into three different sections including implementing statutory directives, the continuation of other rulemakings, and new projects and further planning.

The following rules are listed in the prerule stage:

  • Business lending data (Reg B)

  • Higher-priced mortgage loan escrow exemption

  • Property assessed clean energy financing

  • Remittance transfers

  • Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Reg C)

The following rules are listed in the proposed rule stage:

  • Debt collection rule

  • Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C)

  • Payday, vehicle title, and certain high-cost installment loans

  • Public release of HMDA data

The final rules are listed in the final rule stage:

  • The Expedited Funds Availability Act (Reg CC)

  • Payday, Vehicle title, and certain high-cost installment loans; delay of compliance date
