On August 17, 2023, the CFPB released an update to the filing instructions guide for small business lending data collected in 2024. The 2024 filing instructions guide is a set of resources to help covered financial institutions file small business lending data with the CFPB in 2025 covering the period from October 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.

In particular, the updates included:

Reordering certain demographic information codes to better correlate with Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data, per request from industry;
Minor wording clarifications to the pricing information data point; and
Minor administrative updates to the validation IDs.

The CFPB also reiterated that the rule will not be implemented for American Bankers Association and Texas Bankers Association members until the Supreme Court rules on a separate case involving the bureau's funding.
